EDT Diecasting Technology (Suzhou) supplies cast and machined nut-type parts for automotive steering systems. Used for fastening and locating in the steering assembly, each part is machined after casting on the thread bore, end face and mating surface to meet tightening torque, locking and fatigue requirements.
Machined threads and faces — Casting leaves a controlled allowance, and thread bores plus load-bearing faces are CNC machined for engagement length and squareness, avoiding off-axis loading.
Strength and fatigue — Wall thickness, fillets and internal density are controlled to improve fatigue resistance under cyclic load, as required for steering safety parts.
Locking options — Flange faces, staking points, slots or interfaces for lock washers can be incorporated to suit different locking strategies.
Batch consistency — Tooling-based production keeps geometry and holes stable, supported by first-article approval and patrol inspection for automotive volumes.
Finish and marking — Anodising, painting or passivation is available, and part numbers or batch codes can be cast in for traceability.
Quality control for safety-related automotive parts covers the whole route: incoming material is verified by grade and chemistry, casting parameters are monitored, and after machining thread accuracy, face runout and critical dimensions are inspected to drawing. Spectrometry, tensile testing and CT scanning can be added to confirm internal quality. The plant is certified to IATF 16949.
Used for fastening and locating in steering gears, steering columns and tie rod connections, and also applicable to cast fastener parts in chassis and braking systems.
