EDT Diecasting Technology (Suzhou) die casts aluminium parts for automotive sunroof systems, including rails, slider seats, drive brackets and drainage features. Long parts must hold straightness and fit accuracy while staying light, weathering well and running smoothly.
Straightness on long parts — Gate and cooling layout, a straightening step and CNC finishing keep rails straight and free from twist so the glass moves smoothly.
Slider fit — Guide surfaces and end stops can be machined to control clearance, reducing rattle and sticking during operation.
Drainage and sealing — Drain channels, water ribs and weatherstrip grooves can be integrated to help the roof shed water and limit leakage.
Light weight with stiffness — Ribs and variable wall thickness reduce mass while keeping frame stiffness and suppressing vibration at speed.
Weather resistance — Anodising, painting or e-coating improves corrosion resistance against sunlight, temperature cycling and car wash chemicals.
The difficulty with sunroof parts is distortion on long sections and the assembly dimension chain. Flow analysis is used to predict distortion, which is then corrected by straightening fixtures and machining. Critical guide faces and mounting holes are measured on CMM, with first-article approval and process capability checks for volume supply.
Used for rails, slider seats, drive brackets, sunshade brackets and drainage parts in panoramic and standard sunroofs, and for window regulator and tailgate mechanism structures.
For custom panoramic sunroof accessories please contact EDT Diecasting Technology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. Send drawings, samples or application requirements and our engineers will review the casting, machining and finishing route and come back with a technical assessment and quotation.
