EDT Diecasting Technology (Suzhou) casts and assembles latches for appliance makers. A latch takes repeated impact and spring load, so it needs low porosity and adequate strength, together with accurate hook, pivot and spring seats, which is why casting and sub-assembly are often supplied together.
Low porosity, high strength — Gating and venting control internal density, reducing shrinkage in loaded areas and improving impact and bending strength.
Pivot and hook fit — Pivot bores, hook profile and stop faces are controlled so the door closes fully and opens without sticking.
Spring seats and limits — Spring locations and limit features are cast in, preventing spring displacement during assembly.
Cast and assembled supply — Casting, deburring, machining and assembly with springs and pins can all be completed in house.
Wear and corrosion — Painting, e-coating or plating improves wear and corrosion resistance for humid kitchen environments.
Strength and motion reliability drive quality. Melt quality and casting parameters are controlled to limit porosity and shrinkage, then parts are deburred, machined where needed and assembled. Opening and closing cycles are simulated and appearance inspected, with records kept for critical batches.
Used for latches and catches on washing machines, dishwashers, ovens and refrigerators, and also for lockers, vending equipment and industrial enclosure doors.
