EDT Diecasting Technology (Suzhou) die casts aluminium horn housings for safety and industrial signalling equipment. The housing has to deliver an acoustic chamber, sealing, mounting and paint appearance at the same time, and one-piece die casting keeps chamber dimensions stable from batch to batch.

Key features

• Acoustic chamber as cast — The horn-shaped cavity and reflector are formed with the part, so chamber geometry and sound pressure output stay consistent.

• Sealing features — Grooves and steps can be designed on the parting line, cable entry and cover interface to work with gaskets for dust and water protection.

• Even walls, good rigidity — Ribs and uniform wall thickness raise stiffness and suppress resonance excited by high-output drivers.

• Easy mounting and wiring — Mounting lugs, screw bosses and cable entries are cast in the same tool, reducing secondary operations.

• Paint and finish — Sand blasting, painting in warning colours, powder coating or anodising can be specified for outdoor durability.

Process and quality control

For housings the priorities are cavity integrity, sealing-face flatness and cosmetic quality. The route covers flow analysis, casting, deburring, CNC machining of sealing faces, cleaning, painting and cosmetic inspection; surfaces are checked for porosity, cold shuts and drag marks, and paint adhesion is verified after curing.

Applications

Used for industrial alarms, loudspeaker and buzzer housings, fire and security signalling devices, and warning units on machine tools and construction equipment.
