EDT Diecasting Technology (Suzhou) die casts aluminium gearbox housings for transmission equipment. These parts typically contain two or more bearing bores, seal seats, a mounting flange and reinforcing ribs; die casting removes most of the machining allowance, while CNC boring brings the bearing bores to the required concentricity and roundness.
Coaxial bearing bores — Casting leaves a controlled machining allowance, and both bores are finish bored in one set-up to keep the gear mesh free from misalignment.
Ribs for stiffness — Ribs follow the load path to raise housing stiffness under gear forces and torque reaction, reducing deflection and noise.
Seal seats and joint faces — Oil seal bores, cover joint faces and sealant grooves are cast and then machined to limit oil seepage.
Less machining — Near-net-shape casting cuts allowance and CNC cycle time, lowering total part cost.
Integrated features — Mounting flanges, studs, lifting points and oil level ports can be combined in the same casting.
Bore accuracy and sealing dominate quality for gearbox parts. The process runs from DFM review and flow simulation through casting, deburring, CNC machining including fine boring and face milling, cleaning and inspection. Coaxiality, roundness and position are measured on CMM, joint faces can be leak tested, and first-article plus patrol records are kept in production.
Used for gear reducers, gear motors, worm gearboxes and agricultural or industrial drives, and also for pump and compressor housings that need accurate bore patterns.
