EDT Diecasting Technology (Suzhou) die casts aluminium components for automotive steering systems. Steering is safety related: the part carries steering effort and road shock while sealing faces, mating surfaces and mounting holes must stay within position tolerance, so both internal soundness and machining accuracy are tightly controlled.
Tight porosity control — Gating and venting are optimised and vacuum assistance applied where needed to reduce gas porosity and shrinkage voids.
Micron-level machining — Mating faces, sealing faces and mounting holes are CNC finished to drawing tolerances for assembly and sealing.
Fatigue strength — Fillets and wall design reduce stress concentration, and internal quality checks support reliability under cyclic load.
Surface finishing — Sand blasting, shot blasting, anodising or painting can be applied to improve appearance, corrosion resistance and friction behaviour.
Full traceability — From incoming material verification to batch records, supported by spectrometry, tensile testing and CT scanning.
Process stability is the core of steering part production. Incoming material chemistry is verified by grade, and temperature, pressure and cycle time are monitored during casting. Blanks are deburred and shot or sand blasted before CNC machining, with critical dimensions measured on CMM. CT and X-ray inspection can confirm internal soundness where required. The plant is certified to IATF 16949.
Used for steering gear housings and end covers, steering column parts, tie rod connections and structural parts in electric power steering (EPS) systems.
