EDT Diecasting Technology (Suzhou) produces zinc die cast components for automotive keys and locks. These small, finely detailed parts often carry side holes and snap features, which suits multi-slide die casting in a single cycle, followed by polishing and electroplating for a decorative finish.

Key features

• Multi-slide forming — Side holes, clips and undercuts are formed by slides, so machining and sub-assembly are reduced or eliminated.

• Controlled plating — Castings are polished and plated; surface density and smoothness are managed to avoid blistering and pitting.

• Cosmetic quality — As visible parts, keys are judged on parting lines, drag marks and colour consistency, controlled through tool accuracy and finishing.

• Accurate fit — Mating faces and pin holes for the folding mechanism are controlled and machined so the key opens smoothly without play.

• Strength and wear — Zinc alloy offers good fluidity and dimensional stability for small precision parts, and plating adds wear and corrosion resistance.

Process and quality control

For small precision parts, appearance and fit drive quality. The route covers tool and slide review, casting, deburring and polishing, plating, assembly and cosmetic inspection. Plating is checked for thickness, adhesion and salt spray performance, and cosmetic parts are compared against limit samples batch by batch.

Applications

Used for automotive key housings, folding key pivot parts, remote key trim and lock cylinder components, and also for small decorative zinc parts in appliances, hardware and consumer electronics.
