EDT Diecasting Technology (Suzhou) die casts aluminium cooling brackets for automotive lighting. The bracket combines a dense pin-fin array, LED array holes and a seal groove on a large flat plate, drawing heat out of the LED module while locating the optics, so flatness and cooling area both matter.
Dense pin fins — The pin array is cast with the part, greatly increasing surface area in a small volume and replacing inserted or welded fins.
Array holes in one shot — LED mounting holes, locating holes and optic interfaces are formed in one tool, keeping pitch stable for automated placement and optical alignment.
Seal groove and protection — Grooves and steps can be cast around the perimeter to work with sealant or gaskets, protecting the lamp chamber.
Flatness over a large face — Flow analysis, straightening and CNC machining where needed keep the mounting face flat for good thermal contact.
Mounting features — Mounting ears, studs and clips can be integrated to cut part count and simplify lamp assembly.
Flatness on large thin-wall parts and filling of the pin array are the main process challenges. Flow analysis fixes gate and venting, parts are straightened after casting and mounting faces machined to drawing. Finished parts are checked for flatness, hole position and fin integrity, with sand blasting or painting applied as specified.
Used in headlamp, daytime running light, fog lamp and signal lamp modules, and also for high-power LED structures in industrial and stage lighting.
